CORE SUBJECTS OF KEY STAGE 2
English :
The general aim for English in the national curriculum is to promote high standards of language and literacy by equipping pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written language, and to develop their love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment and gaining knowledge in shaa Allah
Maths :
During KS2 children become much more confident with maths: they are adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, as well as doing mental calculations and solving problems using time, measure or money. By the end of Year 6 the children should have a secure grasp of their times tables up to 12.
Science :
Key Stage 2 science students will learn about plants, including parts of plants, needs of plants and their life cycle. Animals, humans focusing on nutrition, skeletons and muscles. Rocks, including comparing rocks, looking at fossils and understanding how soil is made.
Arabic :
In Arabic, students of lower key stage 2 (year 3 & 4) will learn basic Arabic conversations, numbers, colours, vocabularies etc.
students of upper key stage 2 (Year 5 & 6) will begin with Madinah Arabic book series which includes grammar, dialogues, reading, writing, vocabularies etc.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR SUBJECTS OF KEY STAGE 2
Geography:
Students will learn about different countries around the world starting off with Muslim countries. They will learn about the terrain in that country, the languages spoken there, the religion/s and amount of people, the animals there, what is exported and imported and a brief history.
Islamic History :
Students will learn how Allah swt first created Adam A.S and got through the stories of the prophets and messengers. Once they have dont that, they will study the seerah of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W
Islamic psychology (Yr5+6)
In accordance with Islam, students will learn how the mind works. Students will practice controlling their Nafs, balancing their emotions, learning to respond, developing their listening, communicating, understanding and expressing skills, and choosing to view the positive aspects of situations, among other exercises and activities that will help them better understand themselves. We’ll also examine the Prophet’s s.a.w. response to these emotions and issues.
Islamic self development :
In this subject we will have discussions with the students and teach them how to set personal goals to grow to be the best and productive Muslim they can be with Allah swts help in shaa Allah, we will teach them the importance of consistency and keeping focused and what to do when your not feeling in the mood to do it. We will set them practical tasks and correspond with the parents to help them reach their set goals in shaa Allah
Sunnah Medicine (Yr5+6):
Students will go through the book Tibb an Nawabi where they will learn prophetic medicines and cures in shaa Allah. The children will be doing both theory and practical sessions

All the lessons will be integrated with the Quran and Sunnah, In shaa Allah
Physical Education :
Students will be doing a mixture of practical and theory each session in shaa Allah and being taught the importance of keeping healthy and eating healthy in shaa Allah.
Fiqh(Islamic jurisprudence) and Aqeedah(belief) :
In Fiqh, students will learn basic principles of fiqh, fiqh of purification, salah, zakat, fasting, hajj etc.
In Aqeedah, students will go through topics like tawhid, shirk, pillars of eeman, pillars Islam, knowing Allah, His books, angels , messengers, hereafter, Jannah, Jahannam, death etc. (Based on authentic resources- Quran and Hadeeth)
Names of Allah :
In this lesson, the student will memorise 99 names of Allah, as well as their meaning, where it’s mentioned in the Quran, stories that would help them in pondering and understanding of how to apply them in their daily lives.
Duas and Sunnah :
This subject aims at connecting the student with prophetic sunnahs so that it becomes a way of life for them . Also, students will learn duas in English and Arabic from the well-known book fortress of a Muslim .
Arts and Crafts :
Each Friday students will be able to exercise their creative selves by doing some arts and crafts, we don’t draw faces and all activities will be in-line with Islamic ethos in shaa Allah
Islamic Studies:
During this lesson, your child will be exposed to all essential Islamic studies such as the pillars of Islam, the pillars of eeman, Knowing Allah through His Names and Attributes, short duas with translation, Prophet stories, Quran translation, and much more. It will cover various Islamic topics over time based on the year the student is studying, in order to make them not only better Muslims but also better men and women in the future, in shaa Allah.
